After the UP StreetDance Club was founded, Sir J handpicked the best and brightest street dancers in the group and from the ranks rose “the CREW”.
The CREW is the club’s elite core group tasked to represent UP Street in performances inside and outside the university. A CREW member must have the “IT” factor when it comes to performing and he or she must also possess the outstanding qualities of perseverance, discipline, and professionalism.
Aside from displaying exceptional dancing talents and abilities, CREW members are encouraged to have a living relationship with the Lord and to share that gift with others.
Over the years, the CREW has been praised for their explosive and inspiring performances at the UP Naming Mahal, Push On UP, Dance Away from Drugs with the Manoeuvers, Papuri Concert at the Ultra, South Border Concert in Cavite, Planet X TV show, World HipHop Championships 2005-06 in Los Angeles USA, The Ministry of Sound New Year Celebration 2005-06 in Taiwan, and the annual Street Fuzion series of concerts in UP.
Life in the CREW is exciting, fun, grueling and oftentimes challenging, but at the end of the day, it is one of THE most rewarding life experiences one can ever have. ‘Nuff said!
